How We Help the Community

Ways and Means

Park Ridge Community Women is unique in that 100% of the money we raise goes to member-selected charitable organizations. We typically coordinate one or two larger fundraising benefit events each year along with a few smaller events. We have held dinner dances, a murder mystery party, a playhouse raffle, a "March Madness" basketball-themed party, and an Oktoberfest party, to name just a few. In recent years we have raised and donated $10,000 - $15,000 to organizations including: KidPower for children with serious illnesses, HAVE Dreams for autistic children, Park Ridge Youth Campus, Harbor House, and the Park Ridge Fine Arts Society.

Philanthropy

Hands-on service projects are another aspect of Park Ridge Community Women. Preschool Fair, Meals on Wheels for the homebound, Senior Citizen projects, and Food and Clothing Pantry projects are some examples of the ways our membership serves the area communities.

Social

Members of Park Ridge Community Women strengthen their ties to the community through club social events. Informal, friendly gatherings offer members a change to socialize. Parties, mother-child outings, and evenings out provide opportunities for spouses, children and friends to share in the camaraderie felt by club members. Popular adult events are the gourmet dinners and wine tasting, a Night Under the Stars, the Road Rally, and Game Night. And for the children, favorites include the Christmas party with Santa and the Easter egg hunt.
